A light and a little extra time can help make a dark-weather bus trip easier.

In its Oct. 30 reminder, Community Transit explains that Swift buses stop at every station. Local buses stop when a passenger requests it or the driver sees someone waiting.

- Arrive at least five minutes early.
- Wait visibly near the stop, safely back from traffic.
- Signal the approaching driver with a flashlight or a lit phone screen.
- Wear bright or reflective clothing, with layers for warmth and rain.
- Keep your fare and other essentials within reach.

Check the agency’s trip-planning and arrival tools before leaving.
