Finding steadier work can involve more than sending out another résumé. Training, family responsibilities and immediate financial pressures can all shape what a person is able to take on.

In Snohomish County, Economic Security for All, usually called EcSA, brings employment help and other support into one plan. Workforce Snohomish leads the local program, working with community partners and employment specialists to help residents build a path toward financial stability.

## What the program does

Workforce Snohomish describes EcSA as support for people facing poverty or the risk of falling into it. Participants work toward an individual income goal, with a career plan shaped around their circumstances and the work they want to pursue.

Depending on the person’s needs, that plan can include education or training, help moving into a job, or subsidized employment. The program also coordinates access to workforce, education and social services so that job planning can take account of other barriers in a person’s life.

## How to ask about local help

Start with [Workforce Snohomish’s EcSA information](https://www.workforcesnohomish.org/ecsa/?ref=justabouts.com). To ask who handles current enrollment, call **425-921-3423** or email [info@workforcesnohomish.org](mailto:info@workforcesnohomish.org). Explain that you live in Snohomish County and would like to learn about EcSA or other employment support.

Ask what eligibility rules apply, whether intake is open, which documents to bring, and what assistance fits your situation. The program’s general information does not establish an individual person’s eligibility or guarantee a particular service or payment.

Residents can also use [WorkSource](https://www.worksourceonline.com/?ref=justabouts.com), which Workforce Snohomish identifies as its local connection for job seekers. WorkSource offers employment resources free of charge. If EcSA is not the right fit, ask about the other programs available.

Language assistance is available without charge, and Workforce Snohomish says auxiliary aids and services are available on request for people with disabilities.
