# Granite Falls plans athletic field upgrades, shares family calendar

Granite Falls School District is preparing the first phase of athletic field improvements behind the high school tennis courts, according to its [Oct. 23 Family News newsletter](https://app.smore.com/n/z5deh?ref=justabouts.com).

The district says the planned space would accommodate a full-size football field, a full-size soccer field and two youth soccer fields, with lighting. Initial soil assessments and surveying are complete. Superintendent Dana Geaslen described winter construction as the next step and late spring use as a possibility, rather than a confirmed opening date.

The work follows voter approval of a capital levy, the district said.
