Stanwood Camano Food Bank staff have received naloxone training from Sound Pathways Harm Reduction Center, helping the team prepare to respond to an opioid overdose.

The [food bank thanked the trainers in a Facebook post](https://www.facebook.com/StanwoodCamanoFoodBankServices/posts/pfbid0qGb8joTczcrdgoMAy41C289RT5WxTEXk3tYVKTfAQQsueFPbBAy6wijJJwaQTEXXl), sharing the provider’s account of the session. Sound Pathways said the training focused on recognizing and responding to an opioid overdose.

Naloxone, often known by the brand name Narcan, is a medication that can reverse an opioid overdose, according to [Prevent Overdose WA](https://preventoverdosewa.org/getnaloxone/?ref=justabouts.com), a Washington Department of Health initiative.
