Curious about what happens after a ballot arrives? Snohomish County Elections has posted public observation opportunities for Oct. 26–30, with a chance to watch several steps of ballot processing at the county’s Elections Center in Everett.

According to the county’s [schedule, updated Oct. 23](https://www.snohomishcountywa.gov/m/newsflash/home/detail/3272?ref=justabouts.com), the week’s activities are:

- **Envelope intake scanning:** 5:45 a.m. until the work is done.
- **Ballot envelope opening, ballot scanning and adjudication:** 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- **Signature verification:** 9 a.m. until the work is done.

The county says anyone can visit the Elections Center without a reservation. Visitors check in and follow the county’s observer rules. An observer information session is not required, although people who have attended one receive priority if the county limits attendance because of space.

Check the county’s [observer information page](https://www.snohomishcountywa.gov/5731/Observe-the-Elections-Process?ref=justabouts.com) for rules and visiting details before heading out. Questions can go to Snohomish County Elections at 425-388-3444.
