Arlington Airport, the Tulalip Tribes and the Stillaguamish Tribe are among the recipients selected for Snohomish County PUD’s first round of Electric Pathways for Transportation grants.
The utility announced the awards Nov. 4, saying more than $2.3 million will support 12 transportation electrification projects throughout Snohomish County. Individual awards range from $54,820 to $350,000.
The selected projects include electric-vehicle charging and replacing gas- or diesel-powered vehicles with electric vehicles. Two charging projects will serve places with limited or no existing charging infrastructure, according to the PUD.
The PUD has not released recipient-by-recipient amounts, equipment plans or installation dates in this announcement.
How the funding works
The money comes from the PUD’s sale of clean fuels credits received through Washington’s Clean Fuels Program. The utility received 20 applications and selected 12 projects, considering community benefits, feasibility and long-term sustainability.
The selections still come with conditions: recipients must execute agreements and meet all contract requirements before receiving funds.
Another round is expected
The PUD anticipates a second grant offering in December. It has not announced an opening date or new application deadline in this release.
The current program page says the 2026 application window has closed. Businesses and organizations considering a future project can watch for updated eligibility and application instructions when the next offering is announced.
