Stanwood-Camano School District is asking families to check their contact information and make a backup plan before winter weather disrupts the school day.
In its weather preparation update, the district says it aims to announce schedule changes by 5 a.m. Staff check roads across Stanwood and Camano Island, along with school access and parking lots, before the superintendent decides on delays, closures or snow routes.
Families can review phone numbers and email addresses in Skyward Family Access and contact their school office about corrections. The district recommends saving 833-368-6178 as “SCSD Alerts” and enabling notifications in its free app. Notices also go out by phone, text, email, website and social media.
Updated snow routes are expected later in November on the district’s Snow Routes page. Pickup or drop-off locations may change, so families should review the new information when it becomes available.
The district also encourages families to plan supervision and transportation for late starts, early dismissals or closures. Its Emergency & Weather page is the place to check for further guidance.
