Safety information and local services were the focus of a recent question-and-answer gathering at Cedar Pointe Senior Apartments in Arlington, according to a Nov. 2 update from Arlington police.

Officer Stephanie Ambrose outlined plans to share safety and resource information with older residents through public service announcements.

Mayor Don Vanney and Councilmember Michele Blythe joined the conversation. Police said Vanney talked about city initiatives, and residents raised questions and offered comments.

Salt of the Earth representatives Jamie Stupey and Alyson Cork also described the help their organization offers.

Where to find food-assistance information

Salt of the Earth Food Blessing lists food distributions in Arlington, Marysville and other Snohomish County communities. The organization says appointments and documentation are not required, although it asks for a name and basic information.

Residents looking for help can check its website for the current locations, schedules and contact information before going.
