Farmers and small-acreage owners can get practical help with federal farm programs, manure management and business planning at the Focus on Farming & Forestry conference Wednesday, Nov. 4, in Monroe.

The conference runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Evergreen State Fair Park, 14405 179th Ave. SE, according to the Snohomish Conservation District’s event listing.

Farm programs and practical workshops

The 2026 farming program offers 24 workshops across six tracks, including beginning farming, livestock, lean farm operations, agritourism, soil health and flower farming.

Adela Contreras, who works with the Natural Resources Conservation Service and Snohomish Conservation District, will join the Farm Service Agency’s Kaitlin Davies for a session on federal programs for farmers.

Conservation district farm planner Whit Barrett will cover manure storage, handling, composting and field application, including approaches for smaller properties. Other sessions address farm finances and ways to make day-to-day operations more efficient.

Tickets and registration

Advance registration is $75, with a $30 student option. The official registration page lists prices inclusive of ticket fees and taxes and says tickets include a pastry breakfast and full lunch.

Online advance registration ends Nov. 3 at 11:59 p.m. Registration at the door Nov. 4 will cost $89 per person.
