There is room behind the scenes for Marysville residents who would like to help make community theater happen. Red Curtain Foundation for the Arts welcomes volunteers in set building, stage crew, lighting, costumes and other production roles.

The invitation comes ahead of the theater’s Little Women run, scheduled for Nov. 27–Dec. 20. Red Curtain is staging Kate Hamill’s adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s novel.

Find a role that fits

The volunteer page directs prospective backstage helpers to Scott at 360-322-7402. Ask about the current production’s needs, training and the time commitment before signing up.

The theater’s registration form lists set building and decorating, backstage work, and costumes and props among the choices. Each role has its own requirements, so choose work that suits your skills and ability.

For people who prefer welcoming audiences, front-of-house roles include ushering and box-office work. Usher positions are listed for volunteers 16 and older; other roles have different age or qualification requirements.

The arts center is at 9315 State Ave., Suite J, with its entrance behind the building in the Goodwill shopping center. Contact the theater before arriving to volunteer.
