Yoga, line dancing and a step-count challenge brought different generations together at Don Hatch Youth Center on Oct. 23 for Tulalip’s first Movement is Medicine gathering.

The collaborative event was led by Tulalip Health System, with physical therapists Agnes Borjal and David Morris helping organize it during Physical Therapy Month, Wade Sheldon reports in Tulalip News.

The activities gave participants several ways to try moving together. Representatives from the YMCA, Tulalip Bay CrossFit and Kayak Point Disc Golf shared information about options beyond the day’s gathering.

The Marysville/N. County Family YMCA also shared its participation, thanking Tulalip Health System for hosting and describing its work connecting visitors with activity resources.

Ways to get involved nearby

The YMCA posts its current group-exercise schedules online, with a Marysville branch option. Its membership guide explains which activities membership covers and how to apply for income-based financial assistance.

For an outdoor option, Kayak Point Disc Golf Resort at 7703 150th Place NW, Stanwood, offers an 18-hole beginner Pitch & Putt course that is free during operating hours. The operator says tee times are unnecessary.
