Camano Fire has opened its holiday donation drive, giving island residents several places to leave food and support neighbors through the end of the year.
The drive runs Nov. 1 through Dec. 31 and benefits the Stanwood-Camano Food Bank. Its wish list includes substantial canned soups, pasta and sauce, macaroni and cheese, coffee, tea and other packaged hot drinks. Size 6 diapers and toilet paper are also requested.
Where to leave food
Nonperishable food goes in the marked collection buckets at Camano Fire stations or its administrative office. The agency’s station directory lists these locations:
- Country Club, Station 2: 1326 Elger Bay Road.
- Terry’s Corner, Station 3: 525 E. North Camano Drive.
- Vista/Madrona, Station 4: 273 N. West Camano Drive.
- Mabana, Station 5: 3651 South Camano Drive.
The administrative office is at 811 N. Sunrise Blvd., Camano Island. For questions before a visit, call 360-387-1512 or email info@camanofire.com.
Gift cards and financial donations
For teenagers served by Holiday House, Camano Fire is requesting Amazon gift cards, preferably in $25 amounts. The cards let teens choose their own gifts.
Take gift cards, cash and checks to the administrative office. Make checks payable to the Stanwood-Camano Food Bank. A locked collection box outside the entrance is available when the office is closed.
Gift cards and financial donations can also be mailed to Camano Fire, 811 N. Sunrise Blvd., Camano Island, WA 98282.
Residents looking for food or seasonal assistance can start with the food bank’s Get Help page, which links to service registration, grocery distribution and holiday support. The food bank can answer questions at 360-629-2789.
