Drivers heading through Mill Creek have two November weekends to plan around: the North Creek Bridge on 164th Street SE will close for structural repairs, with traffic sent along a signed detour.

The City of Mill Creek’s current project notice lists these full closures:

Where the closure and detour run

The closure extends between North Road and Mill Creek Boulevard. The city says local access will be permitted up to 5th Avenue and North Creek Presbyterian Church.

The signed detour runs south on North Road, east on Filbert Road and north on Bothell-Everett Highway. The city’s detour map shows the route.

City officials expect substantial delays on surrounding roads. Allow extra travel time, and consider another route when possible.

Why repairs are needed

An engineering evaluation found one of the bridge’s seven support columns in poor condition, according to the city. The work addresses that structural problem.

Check the official project page before traveling for any schedule changes or updated access information.
