Stanwood-Camano residents can get a closer look at school building projects and future space needs at a public meeting Tuesday, Nov. 10.

The district’s Capital Facilities Advisory Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. in the District Office Board Room, 26920 Pioneer Highway, Stanwood. Everyone is welcome, and you do not have to be a committee member to attend.

What’s on the agenda

The first meeting of the school year will cover completed capital projects, work underway and projects under consideration. Committee members will also review enrollment trends, demographic projections and school capacity.

Those subjects feed into the district’s continuing review of attendance areas, the neighborhoods served by each school. The district says the November meeting will provide background for considering whether adjustments may be needed as enrollment and community needs change.

Time is also planned for questions and discussion about the information presented and what else the committee needs to know.

Getting involved

For people who would like an ongoing role, the district is also inviting community members to join its ABC Teams. The Academic, Budget and Capital Projects advisory groups bring together staff, families and residents to contribute to district planning.

Check the district’s meeting announcement for updates before heading out. The district’s general office number is 360-629-1200.
