Stanwood Camano Food Bank staff have received naloxone training from Sound Pathways Harm Reduction Center, helping the team prepare to respond to an opioid overdose.
The food bank thanked the trainers in a Facebook post, sharing the provider’s account of the session. Sound Pathways said the training focused on recognizing and responding to an opioid overdose.
Naloxone, often known by the brand name Narcan, is a medication that can reverse an opioid overdose, according to Prevent Overdose WA, a Washington Department of Health initiative.
