Lincoln Hill Retirement Community is hiring a part-time shuttle driver in Stanwood to help older adults get to lunch, activities and time with friends at the senior center.
The employer’s job posting lists starting pay of $17.50 an hour. The schedule is Mondays and Wednesdays, generally 10 a.m.–1:30 p.m., although hours on either day may vary with the number of riders. Weekends are off.
What the job involves
The driver picks up older adults who no longer drive, brings them to Lincoln Hill and takes them home afterward. The center provides the vehicle, and the posting says a commercial driver’s license is not required.
Lincoln Hill lists customer-service experience and attention to detail among its requirements. Duties include securing wheelchairs and scooters and operating an automated wheelchair lift. The employer says training is available.
The posting also describes lifting up to 50 pounds and bending and stooping to secure wheelchairs. Lincoln Hill says applicants must pass a federal background check and a drug test that includes marijuana.
How to apply
Read the complete requirements and apply through the A.I.P. Shuttle Driver listing.
A.I.P. stands for Age In Place. Lincoln Hill’s program page describes the shuttle as a free service for older adults who no longer drive. For questions, contact the center at 360-629-7403.
